The rumors are that sometime in late 2012 a new version of the Mazda CX-7 will be released to the public. The design will integrate new styling cues from across the corporate line of vehicles. Sizing and proportions will remain fairly close to current dimensions. The 2012 CX-7 may have new engine options available and the all wheel drive system will see some upgrades. Mazda will continue to offer the CX-7 as front drive or all wheel drive through the introduction of the new model late in 2012.Although the models that will be available in early 2012 will be versions of the 2011 models a newer model will make an appearance later in the year.

This new vehicle will be more than an update of the current model. The exterior dimensions will remain approximately the same with new design elements for the grill and front end. Interior upgrades may include a redesigned cockpit and dash. The biggest change will be in available engines as Mazda is considering an optional turbo diesel engine for the American market. This engine will provide better mileage and more torque in an environmentally clean oil burner.Features of the CX-7The CX-7 was first introduced to the American market as a 2007 model.

There have seen cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior over the past five years; however the vehicle has maintained the same shape and size throughout its model run. The vehicle is based on the Mazda 6 platform and incorporates some under carriage elements of the Mazda MPV van and the Mazda CX-9 crossover. Performance is good for a midsized crossover with mileage in the mid twenties overall. Standard and available features include a full range of air bags as well as traction control and stability control to protect against rollovers and skidding on slippery roads and trails.Pricing and CompetitionThe pricing of the 2012 CX-7 should remain comparable to the current versions with process beginning at $21,000.00 for a base front driver and $23,000 for an all wheel drive variant. This is very competitive with other manufacturer's entrants in the market such as the Chevrolet Equinox and the Honda CRV.wheel hub bearings--
